We have bubbles!

Ok, ok. I know I didn’t jump in there. We were having some problems with the pictures and it took us forever to figure it out. So we will get to it soon. However, this is the exciting part, we finally got my fancy tub working. Anyone who has heard me talk about the ‘new’ house has heard me talk about my tub. It is fabulous. It is a lovely deep soaker tub that has 42 tiny airjets around the bottem of the tub.. It has been so nice since it was installed (more to come on that later) but it didn’t have the jets working. We needed to get a GFI breaker for the new breaker panel (we had a contractor replace our fuze box with a breaker panel, more on that later, but it is great!). So yesterday we finally got it up a running.

I was planning on getting a whirlpool tub of some sort but lovey JoAnn from Harbourfront put into my head from her own experience that I should think about how to clean it. So I did a pile of research on tubs and discoverd that tubs with water jets need to be filled up and run with a cup of bleach in it for about 15 to 30 minutes every week if you use it regularly and if you don’t use it often than you should do that before you use it, every time. Not so cool. I’ve read about other people who say brown sludge and stink came out of the jets when they turned it on. Basically the reciculating water sits in the pipes and festers. I wasn’t so into that. If you use it reguarly than it seems to not be so bad. Anyway with a tub like that notice?

So I discovered this other type of jet tub, air jets. They have them just like the water jets but they force air into the tub instead of water. Those are pretty cool. But then I found what they call a bubble jet tub. Which has 38-46 tiny holes around the bottom of the tub and it fires air out of it. Aparently this is a more like a theraputic massage.bubbles Then 20 minutes after you turn it off it turns on again and shoots any the water out of it that that might have gotten in there, which is not a lot. It is self cleaning, ahhhh, so exciting!

So yesterday we set it up and of course the first thing I did was strip off and get in it. Wow, it was really intense. It is like being in a tub of boiling water only the water is only as hot as you want it. Bubbles were going everywhere, and I was laughing like a hyena or something. My whole body was shaking. I had been running around all day doing strange bending and pushing motions so I was really sore and had gotten a kink in my neck. When I got out of the tub I discovered how relaxed I was, more than a normal bath. I wasn’t ‘I want to take a nap relaxed’ I was rejuvinated. It was fabulous. So anyone visiting us feels like trying it out, I am so for it, fill it up and jump in. Plan a visit just for the tub if you’d like, it isn’t like we have anything to offer you in the kitchen (nothing at all…)

The only downfall I think I’ve noticed with this tub, and this is just for informational purposes because it is pretty minor, is that because it is blowing air into the tub I think it cools that water down just a little bit quicker. Not a big deal but something worth noting.
