Gobo (the dopey dog)Posted by Ted on May 4th, 2006
(sigh) We came home on Monday evening to discover a letter from the management company of the condo corp. informing us that they had recieved a complaint that stated that: (a) the dog is left unattended durinng the day (which is true) and (b) barks continuously (which is probably true, but we didn’t know because of (a)). (sigh) We figure it must be happening because of the wide open window that faces out into the common area of the complex. Gobo does tend to get ansy when strangers are coming to our house so its reasonable to assume that he’s a regular barking idiot whenever he sees someone walk past our place. For now, we’ve taken the temporary measure of putting him in the spare bedroom when we’re going out at all - which I’m sure he’ll come to absolutely hate with time. Hopefully when we get window coverings up in the living room, he won’t be able to see through them and will behave himself. We’ll keep you posted as the situation unfolds. -Ted. Hey Ted, you should purchase a citronella dog collar. It’s not cheap, but very humane. We have one for each of our dogs. One of our dogs likes to be outside in the summer while we’re at work, so I put it on her and if she barks, it squirts citronella spray out, which gets in her nose and she doesn’t like. Our little dog, the yipper, can go through batteries pretty quick, but he is seriously annoying and it really does work.
