We suck!Posted by Shannon on April 9th, 2007I know, we are horrible people… we have this fabulous blog and it has been months since we’ve posted. It isn’t really our fault. We haven’t had the money or the time to do anything around the house… I’m sorry! We still have to do a bathroom post as it was the first thing we did. I’ll get the pics up and do that soon. I wanted to give a little update on what we have done… we cleaned up the basement. Doesn’t sound that exciting but I swear it is. Ever see Clean Sweep? Well our basement looked like that, only dirty and with more cat hair… seriously. It was gross, we were using it as a storage room, and place to keep the stuff we STILL haven’t unpacked and a dumping ground. Neither of us even liked going down there, it was that unpleasant. So I was getting ready to do laundry and picked up some napkins from the floor and found ants, only a few tiny ants but I found them. Technically, I can blame Carly… yes Carly. At her birthday party I made pizza fondue, which was fun… well Carly was a little, well drunk, and was eating the pizza sauce off my white linen napkins. Both Eric and Ted were like, ‘Carly, no’ and took it away from her. However, something else we’ve picked up from Carly and Eric is throwing our napkins and dish towels down the basement stairs. So the combination of Ted and I not liking to go in the basement and Carly’s pizza napkin meant that ants had a little meal! Vomit… (that was me, being sick…) So, Ted and I tackled the basement… yah! We took about $10 of bottles to the beer store, a car load to good will and a pile of stuff went in the trash. Why we couldn’t of done it before we moved, I don’t know!?! So now the place is put together and not full of crap… I feel lighter! Maybe I will even get a picture up… it is still not pretty but it is less gross than it has ever been and no ants, ever again! 6 Responses to “We suck!”Leave a Comment |

I hear you on the basement thing - Dave and I did a massive clean up this winter, and the recycling people cringed upon seeing what we had to drop off. Holy cardboard!
We didn’t have any bugs, but probably just due to the cats liking to eat them.
We also toss our towels and whatnot down the stairs. In fact there is a pile waiting to be washed. Le sigh. Your story has made me guilty and I will now need to do that first thing upon getting home.
Have you been at my blog lately? I haven’t heard any comments from you in a while *pout*

Oh geez, I remember the pizza incident. If I recall, the sauce fell on my napkin and I was just scraping it up, wasn’t I? I feel horribly guilty for starting an ant infestation. The drunk was worth it, though ; )
Can’t wait to see the lovely basement. Always wondered why we never shown THAT room during tours…

Actually Carly, after you dropped the pizza on the napkin you actually started spooning the sauce onto it… it was quite funny actually!
And the basement is so not lovely, just not gross, well for a basement, I wouldn’t want to sleep down there or anything!

This all sounds SOOO familar! Only thing in my case is that the previous owner left us lots of junk. So, my goal is to get it all cleaned up - brought up and put in the garage and call the 800 junk guys and have them come pick it all up.
Now…that’s the plan…lets just see how long it takes to make it happen!
